Full and Weekly Boarding Applications for 2020 Entry – Year 9 (13+) and Sixth Form
Full and weekly boarding commences at Whitgift from Year 9 (13+).
Applications can be submitted online from mid-August to the 22 November in the year prior to entering the School. Scholarship applications, Educational Psychologist reports and other supporting documents must be included with the application. All boys who sit the Entrance Examinations are automatically considered for an Academic Scholarship.
Boarding candidates sit the Entrance Examinations at Whitgift, however, international students may sit the tests at a British Council closest to their home.
Parents and prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the School and Boarding House on an Open Morning, Open Evening or at an Open Afternoon. Private tours can also be booked via the Admissions Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please click here for information about our Open Events.
Boarders are not eligible to apply for a Governor’s Bursary, however, can apply for Scholarships and may be considered for a Boarding Award at the Headmaster’s discretion.
Please note that the deadline date for Sixth Form boarding applications for 2020 entry is 18 October 2019.
International student applications
Whitgift is a Tier 4 Sponsor for international students who require a Tier 4 Student Visa to study in the UK.
International students are expected to follow the same application process as UK applicants, and will sit the Entrance Examination papers for their age group. If English is not the applicant’s first language, they may be required to sit an English as an Additional Language (EAL) exam paper. This will be decided in consultation with the Head of EAL.
Our preference is for students to sit our Entrance Examinations at Whitgift, however, it is possible for our examinations to be taken abroad at a British Council location closest to their home. Following successful review and examination results all applicants will have an interview with a senior member of our teaching staff. This can either be face to face if you are able to attend Whitgift, or via Skype.
