Whitgift offers Sixth Form students the opportunity to study either A Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma, and, for selected applicants who are looking to pursue a top tier sporting career, the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business or Sport and Exercise Science. BTEC students will also be required to study one A Level.
Our standard Sixth Form entrance requirements for A Levels or IB is a total of 57 GCSE points which is calculated by adding up all grades 6, 7, 8 and 9. Online applications can be completed from mid-August to 18 October 2019, in the year prior to entering the School. Scholarship applications, Educational Psychologist reports and other supporting documents must be included with the application. All students who sit the Entrance Examinations are automatically considered for an Academic Scholarship.
Once an application has been received, a reference will be requested from the prospective student’s current Head Teacher.
Entrance Examinations for Sixth Form applicants is Thursday 7 November 2019.
Applicants who are invited to sit the Entrance Examinations, will be required to sit tests in two of the subjects chosen for study at A Level or Higher Level International Baccalaureate, as well as a short Critical Thinking Skills test. Students whose first language is not English, may also be required to sit an English as an Additional Language (EAL) test.

All students who have performed well in the Entrance Examinations, and are being considered for an offer, will be invited for an interview at Whitgift. In addition, applicants who have been selected for scholarship consideration in Art/Design Technology and Engineering/Drama/Music/Sport, will also be asked to attend an assessment/audition.
