Non-Residential Boarding House Tutor
Eugene Martin is the Non-Residential Boarding House Tutor. Eugene joined the Whitgift boarding team, in 2016, in addition to his main role of Rugby Development Manager.
New Zealand born, Eugene moved to the UK in 1998 to finish out his last few years as a professional rugby player, having represented Waikato, New Zealand Sevens and New Zealand Maori’s in a successful 16- year career. Having retired as a professional player, Eugene then made the transition into professional coaching, where he was the Backs & Skills Coach at Doncaster Knights, Rotherham Titans and then Director of Rugby at Birmingham & Solihull FC.
Eugene also worked at Warwick School for six years where he was instrumental in the development of the rugby programme, in addition to his mentoring and pastoral roles. Not only is he dedicated to inspiring the boys to be the best version of themselves, Eugene thrives on sharing his knowledge and experience.
Eugene has two children, Diesel and Jaxon, and is married to Franki, who is an Assistant Matron in the Boarding House.
