Peter Yeo is the Deputy Headmaster. He joined Whitgift in 1989, having completed a History/Politics degree at Durham University. He has held a number of positions at the School including Head of Sixth Form, Head of Upper School and Senior Master, and went on to become Deputy Headmaster in 2001.
The main responsibilities of the Deputy Headmaster are:
- To be responsible to the Headmaster for all aspects of the academic life of the School including the curriculum, the quality of teaching across the School, and the academic progress of all students
- To advise the Headmaster on all matters relating to staffing requirements, and to oversee the process of recruiting and appointing new teaching staff
- To manage the work of Heads of Faculty and Heads of Department
- To be responsible for the management of the Public Examinations process, the School timetable, and the process of students applying to Higher Education
