Whitgift charters the magnificent Goodwood House, in West Sussex, for a very special Arts Day. Home to the Earl and Countess of March, this historical venue will host a unique exhibition featuring an eclectic mix of outstanding Whitgift talent.
Visitors will enjoy a range of live music and drama performances throughout the afternoon, a display of artwork commissioned especially for the occasion, and a variety of interactive activities, reflecting Whitgift’s cultural diversity by bringing together elements from Asia, Eastern Europe and the UK. Between the events and presentations, there will be an opportunity to relax over tea and cake in Goodwood House’s very own café.
With guided tours providing a personal insight into the incredible history of the family, together with masterclass sessions from prestigious young Moldovan artist, Valeria Duca, and an opportunity to bid for her extraordinary work, this wonderful event promises to be a hugely-enriching experience for parents and pupils alike. A spectacular air display, by an elite pilot of Ultimate High, will bring the day to a close and ensure it lives on in the memory for years to come. Please view the flyer, for further details of everything going on throughout the day.
Orchestral concerts will take place in the Ballroom at 2.15pm, 3.45pm (fully booked) and 5.15pm, each lasting 30 minutes. The vibrant programme will feature performances by the Whitgift Brass Quintet and Symphony Orchestra, as well as virtuoso solos showcasing some of our most talented musicians. If you wish to reserve a seat for a concert, please email Goodwood@whitgift.co.uk with the time you would like to attend and the number of tickets requested. Please note we can seat 120 for each concert, therefore booking is advised as we cannot guarantee concert entry if you haven’t reserved tickets in advance.
Guided tours will depart from the Red Hall at 3.00pm (fully booked) and 4.30pm (fully booked), each lasting 30 minutes, and will be led by Goodwood’s resident historians. Spaces for tours are limited so please email Goodwood@whitgift.co.uk to reserve a space on the tour of your choice; please specify the time and number of people attending the tour.
We are offering transport from Whitgift should anyone prefer not to travel independently; a coach will be departing from Whitgift at 12.00pm, and departing Goodwood House at 6.30pm to return to Whitgift. Please book this at the time of booking your ticket to Goodwood; see prices above.
