The Wakeboard Club
The Wakeboard Club runs weekly sessions to Liquid Leisure near Slough every Monday whilst light permits. Using the cable ski system, boys progress from kneeboards onto wakeboards and then receive instruction to help them improve and learn new skills. It is open to all boys from all years and the only pre-requisite is the ability to swim to a reasonable standard. The minibus departs from outside the Outdoor Education Department at 15:45.
Boards are provided by the School with wetsuits and safety equipment the responsibility of the centre. The lake has a variety of ‘kickers’ and ‘sliders’ and boys are able to use these obstacles once they have reached the required level.
A yearly trip takes place during the summer break to a variety of cable skis in the local area. Boys receive intensive instruction over a period of several days and generally progress extremely quickly. The Club has been running for many years now and as shown by the photos, several boys have reached a very high level in the sport.
