At Whitgift, our charitable fundraising is an integral part of a pupil's education and development at the School. We are not simply individuals, but members of Form groups, Houses, the wider School community, families, and our society. Our links to others are important and our charity work reflects that link. We strive to choose charities for which our support will really make a difference as well as those we feel most strongly reflect Whitgift values.

Each year Whitgift boys raise money, typically for two chosen charities, alternating between international and UK based organisations. If you have an idea for a Charity that you would like the School to support, please let us know. Last year, we raised £9,000, which was split between CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and Mary's Meals.

This year, we are supporting the following charities:

The Magic Bus. Primarily based in India, working to enable some of the world’s poorest families to move out of poverty. Through their use of a mentoring model and sport-based curriculum, children are engaged in learning, and supported in their journey from childhood to livelihood, through better awareness, better life skills and better opportunities.

Bees for Development. Promotes sustainable beekeeping, in order to combat poverty and build maintainable, resilient livelihoods. The charity supports beekeepers worldwide to maintain environments that are good for bees, for biodiversity and for people.
